Uhtred is a fictional character who appears in a series of novels by Bernard Cornwell. In the series, Uhtred starts his life as an English boy, then becomes a warrior and leader. In Cornwell’s novel The Last Kingdom, Uhtred is the son of a Saxon nobleman. He was kidnapped at age ten during a Viking invasion of Northumbria.
